How To Calibrate Jetson Hoverboard

As you are moving and grooving around on your hoverboard, the internal balancing mechanism of your hoverboard works to keep you upright. Now, the question is, will you experience the same when you calibrate Jetson hoverboard.

How To Calibrate Jetson Hoverboard?

As you are moving and grooving around on your hoverboard, the internal balancing mechanism of your hoverboard works to keep you upright. It will make adjustments with every turn, as you speed up or slow down, and even when you tackle uneven terrain.

Jetson hoverboards can self-balance. That’s why they are extra safe and easy to use for beginners. However, sometimes, the balancing mechanism gets off-kilter a bit and needs resetting, or to be recalibrated.

It may sound a bit complex, like you may as well contact a mechanic to sort it out for you. It is not as complicated as it sounds, however.

This is easily doable for any hoverboard owner. It takes much less than a minute to do. So, let’s take the time to talk about how to calibrate Jetson hoverboard.

When Should You Recalibrate?

Your hoverboard will probably start to act up a bit when its mechanisms need realigning. There will be several signs that it is getting close to the time for you to recalibrate it. These signs include:

  • It will be beeping a lot.
  • It may start to spin on its own in a manner that feels somewhat out of control.
  • Its indicator lights have started to flash red, or are just red, period.

Now, these may sound scary, but please remember that it is a simple issue that is simple enough to sort out. If it does start acting up, stop using it. Take the time to recalibrate Jetson hoverboard, simply for the sake of your safety.

How Do You Recalibrate Jetson Hoverboard?

So, how do you recalibrate Jetson hoverboard? Well, if you need to get your hoverboard back in balance, we will go through the step-by-step guide for you in a moment.

However, you need to ensure that as you are recalibrating your hoverboard you do not lean on the board or apply any weight to it during any part of the process at all! This could throw it off if you add any pressure or weight to it.

Step-By-Step Process to Calibrate Jetson Hoverboard

Let us look at the step-by-step process on how to calibrate Jetson hoverboard.

  1. First, turn off your hoverboard and move it to a flat and level surface.
  2. If either side of the hoverboard is tilted to the back or front, carefully twist it so that both of the footbeds are horizontal, equal, and parallel to the floor.
  3. Hold down the power button for 3 to five seconds. However, note that if you have the Jetson Sphere hoverboard you will need to do this for 15 seconds, note 3 or 5 seconds.
  4. Release the power button once your hoverboard shows signs that it has managed to fully calibrate(see also: How To Calibrate A Hoverboard)(see also: How To Calibrate A Hoverboard)(see also: How To Calibrate A Hoverboard). The sign that it has recalibrated will depend entirely on the model that you have. If you cannot remember the model name of your hoverboard then turn it over, as there will be a label on the board’s underside that will inform you of what model the board is.
  5. After this, you should turn the hoverboard off and then turn it back on again.
  6. Once you have completed this process, if the hoverboard is still beeping, and spinning, or if it shows a red indicator light, then go through the recalibration steps again until it does not do it anymore. It may take up to three attempts to recalibrate for it to be successful and for you to get everything back into total realignment, so be patient.

Which Models Will Tell You The Calibration Is Successful Via Beeps & An Announcement?

How To Calibrate Jetson Hoverboard?

Some of the Jetson hoverboard models will have a quirky way to tell you that the calibration was successful. Several models may play a series of beeps, play a musical tune, and will then announce “calibration successful”. The models which do this include:

  1. Mojo
  2. Hali X
  3. Rogue
  4. Strike
  5. Sphere

Some generations of the Flash, Impact, Magma, Plasma, Rave, and Spin which is also formerly known as the Aero model will also do this. Older Jetson hoverboards may also do this if they have a built-in Bluetooth speaker.

Which Models Will Tell You Calibration Is Successful Via Beeps But No Announcement?

Not all models of Jetson hoverboards will let you know that the calibration was successful via beeps and then an announcement, instead, these models will simply let you know via a series of beeps, or a musical tone. Models which do this include:

  • Prism
  • Plasma X
  • J-Beat
  • Litho X
  • Motokicks
  • Rumble
  • Sync
  • Tracer
  • X10
  • Zone

There are some generations of Plasma, Magma, and Spin which were formerly known as the ‘Aero’. Of course, some Jetson hoverboards also will not have an inbuilt Bluetooth speaker system.

What If Your Hoverboard Is Not Resetting?

Make sure that you know the proper method that is easiest to reset your hoverboard, as it will keep your board balanced and working well. However, if the board does not reset you need to repeat the process three times at least.

However, if the problem still exists and your attempts at recalibration have not been fruitful then there might be a deeper issue with the balance sensor.

If this is the case then you will need to replace the sensor with the aid of a professional technician. Of course, this does cost money, but you should never use an unbalanced hoverboard.

Overall

It is extremely easy to recalibrate Jetson hoverboard, they are simple and easy to use, and the method of recalibration is super simple. However, it might take a few tries to fully recalibrate.

If your hoverboard still does not calibrate after a few attempts, you may need to take it to a professional technician who can let you know if there is an issue with the balance sensor. It is better to be safe rather than sorry. Never use a hoverboard that is not properly balanced.
